Engity's Bifröst is a new generation of open-source SSH server.
Developed in the programming language Go (also known as Golang) and published as open-source software under the Apache 2.0 license, it is Engity's contribution to easier and more secure administration of IT systems.
Engity's Bifröst offers the same classic functions as conventional SSH servers, but with significantly more useful features:
- Significantly increased security and manageability.
- SSH with single sign-on via OpenID Connect, without the need for extra tools on the client side.
- Users can be reliably locked out of systems within 15 minutes (if necessary).
- Users can be provisioned in a local environment with pre-defined requirements.
- Users can be given a dedicated environment within Docker containers or Kubernetes pods, or they can access the machine directly, as with conventional SSH servers.
And thanks to its open-source nature, Engity's Bifröst is free to use, its functions are transparent, and it can be extended by the user.
